ABBA and Vegas at the Bling Fling 2012

Phoenix Theatre were thrilled to be able to help out with the fourth annual Bling Fling Charity Walk at the Duthie Park. With ABBA belting out the hits to get the walkers revved up, followed by the Viva Las Vegas performance at the after party in the Winter Gardens, we had a great day with the girls.

Calum Stewart was the MC for the event, providing updates and banter, while our buff waiters ensured all the walkers got a well-earned glass of fizz (and an eyeful!).

From selling raffle tickets to tidying up at the end of the night, our happy helpers were delighted to help raise a massive £55,000!

Princess Ruby at St Margaret's School for Girls

Phoenix Theatre actress Katie Milne as Princess Ruby

Princess Ruby (aka Katie Milne) visited a P1 class at St Margaret's School for Girls this week.

As part of their class project this term on castles, pupils received a letter from Princess Ruby tasking them with rescuing her from the Great Green Dragon.

Fiona Walker, Primary 1 class teacher at St Margaret’s School for Girls, said: “It is fundamentally important to make teaching and learning interactive and fun, especially with the younger pupils as it is proven to deliver fantastic development results.”

“This project with Princess Ruby and the Great Green Dragon has caused great excitement for the girls waiting for their next letter and challenge. They have worked very hard to achieve each challenge so that they could rescue and meet the princess which they thoroughly enjoyed.”
