Beauty and the Beast at Skibo Castle
Phoenix Theatre were delighted to be back at Skibo Castle again – this time presenting ‘Beauty and the Beast’ as part of the Diamond Jubliee family weekend.
Everyone had a terrific time, both cast and audience, in what was described as a "first rate success".
“A first rate show yesterday... It was a terrific success and everyone enjoyed it.”
Jubilee celebration for our performers
Performers from Phoenix Theatre and Phoenix Youth Theatre took part in the free family-friendly concert at the Duthie Park to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
They entertained the crowds with songs straight from the West End and enjoyed spending the day meeting people and helping things run smoothly.
Street dance with Phoenix's Katie Milne
In April and May, the Cults Cubs were working towards their Fitness Challenge badge and Katie Milne helped out by giving them a session on street dance.
“Katie was fantastic tonight – the Cubs had a ball and we ended with 36 Cubs and a few leaders in a mass dance!”
ABBA and Vegas at the Bling Fling 2012
Phoenix Theatre were thrilled to be able to help out with the fourth annual Bling Fling Charity Walk at the Duthie Park. With ABBA belting out the hits to get the walkers revved up, followed by the Viva Las Vegas performance at the after party in the Winter Gardens, we had a great day with the girls.
Calum Stewart was the MC for the event, providing updates and banter, while our buff waiters ensured all the walkers got a well-earned glass of fizz (and an eyeful!).
From selling raffle tickets to tidying up at the end of the night, our happy helpers were delighted to help raise a massive £55,000!
Characters attend Prime Events client evening
Phoenix Theatre were delighted to provide performers to meet and greet the guests at a corporate showcase for our friends at Prime Events.
Our young actors were on hand as fairies, masqueraders, and kings and queens.
Princess Ruby at St Margaret's School for Girls
Princess Ruby (aka Katie Milne) visited a P1 class at St Margaret's School for Girls this week.
As part of their class project this term on castles, pupils received a letter from Princess Ruby tasking them with rescuing her from the Great Green Dragon.
Fiona Walker, Primary 1 class teacher at St Margaret’s School for Girls, said: “It is fundamentally important to make teaching and learning interactive and fun, especially with the younger pupils as it is proven to deliver fantastic development results.”
“This project with Princess Ruby and the Great Green Dragon has caused great excitement for the girls waiting for their next letter and challenge. They have worked very hard to achieve each challenge so that they could rescue and meet the princess which they thoroughly enjoyed.”
Paparazzi at the Ishoka awards dinner
Phoenix Theatre's paparazzi were out in force at the Cults Hotel for the Ishoka awards dinner to celebrate their 25 years in business.
The guests were welcomed by flashing cameras and tough fashion questions from the likes of 'Glammo' and 'Fit Like' magazine.
