Colette Heads for Chelsea!

We are proud to announce that our wonderfully talented Choreographer and Dance Teacher, Colette Murray BA Hons, CBTS (RAD), FDI (ISTD), has been appointed to the management position of Programme Co-ordinator with The English National Ballet School, based in Chelsea, London.

Everyone at Phoenix Theatre and Phoenix Youth Theatre will be sad to see her go after six years of stunning choreography but we are all very proud of what she has achieved and know that she will go from strength to strength in her new position.  Aberdeen's loss is London's gain!

Good luck, Colette!

Fans on Hand for Charity Ball

Members of Phoenix Theatre and Phoenix Youth Theatre were in high spirits as they helped out at the JDRF Junior Diabetes Charity Ball last night at Ardoe House Hotel.

Our famed crew of paparazzi were out in full force, greeting the guests alongside a crowd of screaming young fans! The guests were then entertained by our delightful Marilyn dancers, who stayed late into the night following their routine, to assist with a fantastic raffle.

Cast Join Carmen at the Caird Hall

Phoenix Theatre and Phoenix Youth Theatre were delighted to once again be part of Ellen Kent & Opera International's professional touring productions, as they travelled to the Caird Hall in Dundee.

An Inspector Calls on Phoenix Stars

Three of Phoenix Youth Theatre's youngest upcoming stars were honoured to take part in the latest professional tour of 'An Inspector Calls' at His Majesty's Theatre, alongside TV's Liam Brennan.

The show ran from Tuesday 8 March to Saturday 12 March and is the third time Phoenix Youth Theatre have been asked to provide performers for the hit West End show. Several of the youngsters selected in the past have gone on to great things within Phoenix and we are sure that Nicole, Matthew and Oran will follow in their footsteps!

Phoenix is 25 Years Old!

Phoenix Theatre is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year!

From 1991's Annie to 2016's Legally Blonde, the company has been honoured to entertain the audiences in the North East for a quarter of a century!

We have also seen a number of our young stars go on to great things on the West End and in TV land, such as Call the Midwife's Laura Main, who was our original Annie back in 1991!

The last 25 years have been a roller-coaster ride that would be difficult to put into words. But that's just what Phoenix Theatre's Jonnie Milne had to do, when he was interviewed by the Evening Express this week!

Happy Halloween Wedding

Congratulations and best wishes to Phoenix stalwarts Fiona Milne and Keith Elliott, who celebrated Halloween by becoming the new Mr and Mrs Elliott.

The happy couple met through Phoenix and it was love at first sight when Fiona - who has been a part of the company for over 15 years - first laid eyes on Keith when he turned up to help at Phoenix Youth's 'Annie' in 2010.

Their wedding was a beautiful affair and all of the guests had a fantastic time celebrating the occasion. Everyone in Phoenix Theatre and Phoenix Youth Theatre wishes Fiona and Keith health, wealth and happiness going forward.

Michael Leaves for Trinity Laban

Phoenix Youth Theatre would like to wish Michael Lewis the best of luck as he heads down to London to start the next stage of his theatrical training at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Michael has been one of Phoenix Youth's stars for the past few years, landing lead roles in shows including 'Billy', 'The Pajama Game' and 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying'. He also went on to play Rapunzel's Prince in Phoenix Theatre's production of 'Into The Woods'

He has been a joy to work with every step of the way and we couldn't be more proud of him!

Our Very Own Disney Princesses

Phoenix Youth Theatre are delighted to partner up with Codona's Amusement Park in Aberdeen to provide a little Disney magic for the Summer season.

A number of our talented young stars will be on hand to meet and greet the youngsters of the North East each weekend as a selection of Disney princesses. Pictured here are our first pair - Serena Masson and Charlotte Reid as Frozen's Elsa and Anna respectively. What other princesses will be flying in? Head down to Codona's to find out!

Serena Heads for the West End

We couldn't be happier to say well done to one of our nicest pupils, Serena Masson, as she prepares to head off for the West End this summer!

Serena's Star Quality Takes Her to the West End

Many singers and actors would love to appear in London's hallowed West End. But the majority never realise that ambition. So you can imagine how excited Portlethen teenager Serena Masson is after gaining the chance to appear in a new production of Phantom of the Opera.

The 17-year-old has just been accepted into the West End Stage programme and, although she's still at school, Serena is already relishing the chance. In the longer term, she wants to be a film actress. But the opportunity to shine with many of her British contemporaries this summer has thrilled her to bits.
